Kindness and Gratitude
This issue comes to you all the way from Cambridge, Massachusetts. I made a quick getaway with my friends this weekend to Massachusetts. But wait, this newsletter edition is not my travel log. This is about kindness and gratitude.
I observed a big change this past week. Finally, this foreign land has started feeling like home. And that’s not to say that I don’t miss my family back in India. But the love support, and kindness I have experienced from people around me here has made me appreciate this phase of my journey even more.
This weekend remains the highlight of my term so far and not because of all the amazing things I saw, ate, and learnt in Massachusetts, but because of the warmth of my friend’s family. This would have been just another college trip if not for them opening up their home to us. They were so kind to us that it almost felt I was back in my home. From the home-cooked meal to driving across the city, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. And there are no words to express my gratitude towards them.
At the risk of sounding too philosophical, let me say that I have always believed in the goodness of humanity and if we can all just be a little more kind towards everything around us we can all meet the elusive goal of happiness.
For You💚
Quote of the Week:
We carry with us, as human beings, not just the capacity to be kind, but the very choice of kindness. - Wonder (film, 2017)
An App I’d Like to Share:
Kaizen Flow: I found this really cool Pomodoro timer in Thomas Frank’s newsletter last week. It’s simple, well-designed and comes with built-in white noise & lo-fi beats.
